This is Debian/GNU Linux's packaged version of SATAN.
This package provides an security auditing tool for networks.

This package was put together by me, Javier Fernndez-Sanguino Pea
<jfs@computer.org>, from the original source, which I obtained from
http://www.fish.com/satan or ftp://ftp.porcupine.org/pub/security/

This program is *not* free software since no fee (other than
"at-cost") can be charged for its distribution (see note below); but the
modifications (i.e packaging) made by myself to make it available
to the Debian GNU/Linux users IS free software.
